I started training with Karen in January 2016 with a 4-week Jump Start program. Over the years I had gotten used to those extra 5 pounds here and there that kept creeping up on me. At my initial evaluation, Karen asked what my motivation level was. I told her “10…until it’s not!” I always got SO motivated to lose weight and for a few weeks would do some cardio with my version of healthy eating. Without someone to keep me accountable, I would quit every time. I am not a person that can challenge myself and stick with it. After my Jump Start was over, I cried and told my husband that if I didn’t train with Karen, I knew I would quit again.
My weight loss goal was 30 pounds by my birthday in October. Karen told me I could lose 45! That’s how we began, and now here I am, 9 months later…with that goal behind me and a healthy life in front of me! I don’t think it has sunk in yet that I AM HERE! I did it! It wouldn’t have been possible without the weekly appointments, monthly evaluations, nutrition tips, right exercises, and Karen’s motivation to keep me going every day.
