February: Loving Yourself by Focusing on Your Health

Self Care Advice Rest

Distractions. Responsibilities. The craziness of everyday life.

With everything you’re juggling, maintaining focus on your health can be a challenge. Stress, anxiety, and exhaustion take over and it’s easy to put your goals on the backburner.

However, February is the month of love. And, one of the most important people to love is YOU.

So, this month make an intentional effort to love yourself by focusing on your health. Doing so will kick your body transformation into high gear and keep you on track to reaching your goals.

Here’s how:

Take Time for Gratitude

Stress and anxiety are mood killers. They make your mind and body work harder and make your motivation almost nonexistent. Therefore, it’s important to keep these in check, and a great way to do that is by expressing gratitude.

Research shows that taking time each day to take stock of the things you are grateful for has many health benefits. So, keep a gratitude journal, jar, or simply take the time to reflect on 2-3 things you are thankful for each day.

Practice Mindful Eating

When life is busy, it’s easy to just grab whatever is right in front of you. However, this is a surefire way to lose control over your healthy eating plan. Therefore, practice mindful eating to ensure that you remain in control and stay focused on healthy eating practices.

Get Up and Move

Too often when life gets busy, we think that if we can’t spend at least an hour on exercise then it’s not even worth it. That’s just not true.

Whatever exercise you can get is great for your health. So if you only have 10, 15, or 20 minutes, use that time to move. Go for a brisk walk. Take the time to do some sit-ups, push-ups, and planks.

If you know that certain days during the week are busier than others, plan your exercise routine accordingly.

Give Yourself Time to Rest

Sleep and rest are essential to a healthy mind and body. Good sleep helps you stay focused and motivated when you need to be and gives your body time to heal. Therefore, make an intentional effort to get enough sleep at night and small breaks during the day to reenergize.
